With a strong commitment to safety, customer service, and excellence, we have become one of the most trusted names in the travel industry.As we continue to grow, we are looking for a skilled Holiday Claims Solicitor to join our team on a part-time basis, working 3 days per week with hybrid working options.Our Holiday Claims Solicitor will Take Responsibility for expertly overseeing and addressing injury and illness claims related to Jet2holidays, alongside handling quality complaints, with a strategic focus on minimising coststo the business while maximising reclaims from suppliers.This pivotal role involves providing dedicated support to the General Manager – Regulatory and Litigation and the Jet2holidays legal claims team daily, fostering seamless collaboration with external lawyers and insurers to achieve optimal outcomes.What will you do in the role

• Read, assess, and make decisions on pre-litigation and post-lit claims, as a direct supporting function to the GM – Regulatory & Litigation
• Directly support and supervise the Jet2holidays legal claims team in their daily workload, including but not limited to reviewing and authorising Defences, Schedules of Loss, Instructions to experts etc
• Investigate costs incurred by the business to see if contributions can be made from external parties where they are at fault – instigating these investigations and entering into appropriate discussions and negotiations
• Liaise with internal teams and external lawyers for the purpose of general claims management, with ongoing process improvement in mind
• Closely work with the company’s brokers, insurers, and their loss adjusters in respect of claims management directly supporting the GM – Regulatory & Litigation
• Directly support the GM – Regulatory and Litigation, in the handling of any serious notifications we receive (legionnaires/outbreaks/serious or catastrophic injuries) and liaising with relevant business areas, such as Risk & Safety, Overseas Operations,Insurers and External Lawyers
• Delivering training within the Legal Department and across the business on relevant issues and claims handling processes and arranging training from external providers to support the continued professional development of the Legal Claims team
• Staying abreast of case law and procedural updates to ensure internal working practices and strategy are aligned with the obligations presented

What are the key skills/experience you’ll already haveWe’re looking for a Qualified Solicitor with at least 2 years of post-qualification experience ideally in travel law.

• In-house travel experience would be desirable
• Working knowledge of Package Travel Regulations, ABTA Code of Conduct and ATOL Regulations
• Full working knowledge of claims handling processes and Civil Procedure Rule
