Job Description

Health and Safety Manager (Client-Side Construction) Leeds, Hull or Newcastle (home based with site travel) | £43,000 + Excellent benefits Irwin & Colton has been engaged to recruit a Health and Safety Manager to join one of the UKs largest infrastructure, client side organisations. The role will be tasked with driving a positive health and safety culture across 5 major projects, ranging fromHull to the North East. The organisation has over £2bn of projects which are currently operational, providing a great development opportunity to further build your Health and Safety career.This role is primarily focused on discharging the client side CDM duties.Responsibilities of the Health and Manager will include:

  • Visiting site, assisting, and advising operational managers to ensure they can achieve the efficient and effective delivery of the Health and Safety strategy
  • Auditing sites against Health and, Safety criteria, and insuring a Health and Safety file is in place
  • Examining existing and new systems of work to identify any flaws or training requirements necessary to improve culture
  • Attending preconstruction meetings, insuring health and safety is implemented throughout the life cycle of the project
The successful Health and Manager will have:
  • Proven experience in a Health and Safety role, with and understanding of client side CDM duties and responsibilities
  • Hold or working towards NEBOSH / NCRQ Diploma or NVQ5 (or equivalent)
  • Excellent communications skills with proven experience engaging clients and contractors
  • A strong technical knowledge across relevant health and safety legislation, compliance and regulations
This position will require a self-starter who can lead by example and hit the ground running. This role will involve frequent travel, therefore a UK drivers licence is essential.
