Job Description

Executive GAP have partnered up with a Large business based in West Yorkshire to help them appoint a Head of Finance and Shared Services. As well as leading a large central finance team, this role will oversee the delivery and ownership of numbers acrossmultiple functions and will be a key appointment. As the business continues to navigate huge change and ongoing growth, it will be the responsibility of the Head of Finance and Shared Services to oversee the production of month end reports, local statutoryaccounts, whilst ensuring the development of robust controls and rigor around compliance become centric in any future growth strategy. As new requirements are uncovered, the role of Head of Finance and Shared Services will really come into its own offeringcontinuous process improvement, development of systems and above all offering best in class leadership within a finance centre of excellence. Other responsibilities will include and not be limited to;

  • Drive performance and quality within the teams to exceed expectations.
  • Ensure all policies and processes embed a strong financial control environment, applying a risk-based approach and support in all external audit requirements.
  • Maintain process documentation, metrics and KPIs that drive a continuous improvement culture and accountability to stakeholders.
  • Build and develop stakeholder relationships with other managers and the wider business to be best in class.
  • Connect external and internal customer requirements to the objectives and performance of the shared service teams.
  • Not only lead, but delegate and prioritise workloads to meet the demands of the role and aim to consistently hit and where possible, exceed key performing metrics.
Essentially the role of Head of Finance and Shared Services is targeting a qualified ACA/ACCA/ACMA accountant with post qualified experience ideally gained within a group or central finance function. A demonstrable track record in managing a high performingteam or at least a demonstration of helping to create a best in class team would be a distinct advantage in this role. At this level it is a given that you will be capable of influencing and negotiating with senior stakeholders, be able to show a methodicalapproach with the customer being centric to goal setting and future decision making.Few clients put such emphasis on ensuring staff welfare and work life balance are at the heart of what the do.
