* Flexible and hybrid working based from between home and Central Leeds officeAbout the ClientA member owned financial services business.Job DescriptionWorking as part of the Senior Management Team, you will be delivering on the strategy of the business. Full responsibility for the Credit Function including lending and collections. Setting lending and collections policies and ensuring regulatory adherence.Managing the loan book effectively and to budget expectations. Dealing efficiently and sensitively with customers throughout the journey. Improving the customers journey. Developing and optimising the Credit operation. Managing third party suppliers.Key Accountabilities* Responsibility for setting credit and collections policies in conjunction with the Head of Risk & Compliance* Responsibility for the credit risk profile of the loan book* Agreeing and managing loan mandates and policy* Ensuring budgeted loan interest income is achieved in line with agreed KPIs* Support the development of new products and services* Managing risk in line with our risk appetite and agreed KPIs* Monitoring and managing arrears and bad debt to budget and provisioning policy* Ensure compliance with all regulatory and statutory requirements* Assessing and decisioning loan applications in accordance with agreed policy.* Managing and developing the scorecard process in order to optimise loan decisioning* Support the setting of loan interest rates as member of the Pricing Committee* Analysing, monitoring and reporting on the loan book performance.* Identifying and implementing improvements and efficiency gains within the loans and collections teams* Managing the Loan and collections teams to ensure optimum performance and productivity, including performance management* Working with the Head of Marketing to ensure new business volumes are appropriate and turn-around times are delivered in line with agreed KPIs* Develop and implement a robust QA process* Work with the Head of Finance to further develop and optimise the provisioning model* Manage 3rd party collections and legal agencies to ensure compliance, productivity and cost effectiveness* Monitoring and reporting on performance to SMT & the BoardThe Successful Applicant:To be successfully considered for this role, candidates will possess the following skills and experience:* Excellent analytical and mathematical skills* An ability to Critically analyse to a significant level of detail* Degree in finance or related areas; MBA degree preferred, or equivalent industry recognised qualification * At least five years of progressive experience in credit related positions with banks or financial services firms* Demonstrable experience in un-secured and secured lending environments* Proven ability to develop, implement and manage scorecard strategies and related processes* Evidence of a substantial delegated credit authority* Extensive credit related experience in managing underwriting and collections teams* Ability to manage a team of employees with a broad range of experience and technical skills* Ability to engage at all levels, up to and including BoardWhats on Offer* A competitive salary depending upon relevant experience* Holidays of 25 days * Flexible working and hybrid working
