Job Description

We are looking to recruit a Group Procurement Lead. Leeds HQ, with Hybrid Working and Site Meetings required.The procurement professional will provide a commercial service with a business partner approach to the wider business units with in the matrix structured manufacturing operation. As Group Procurement Lead you will have responsibility to develop and execute key Commodity Strategy for raw materials setting and achieving short and long term goals for Supplier Quality, Delivery, Cost and Innovation are key aspects to the role. This role needs a strong competence on Commodity Procurement strategy, working with analytical data from multiple sources, seeking to initiate engagement with key internal stakeholders to drive commercial activities to deliver cost savings, supplier assuranceand strategic partnerships. Key Responsibilities:

  • Work with plant management team to identify and drive operational improvements, cost reduction initiatives, process flow and inventory reduction
  • Define and drive strategic commodity plans & performance measures
  • Ability to balance between long term strategic focus and short term priorities based on customer needs
  • Ability to understand problems, initiate long term structured improvement projects and ensure their timely delivery
  • Lead development and execution of supplier Cost Reduction plans for the commodity group
  • Lead the sourcing process in alignment with group commodity strategies
  • Develop and execute long term Supply Chain Strategy for the plants including the roll out for all tactical aspects of supply base management
  • Participate as a member of the management team to formulate policies, procedures, and strategies to achieve the business goals
  • Participates in the development of the annual and long-range budgets and strategies
Knowledge & Experience:
  • Must have excellent problem solving skills
  • Professional verbal and written communication skills essential
  • Must have highly developed organizational skills including the ability to prioritize, handle multiple projects simultaneously, and meet deadlines
  • Proficient in use of Microsoft – Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project and Outlook
  • Strong knowledge of ERP/MRP is desirable
  • Minimum 5 years related work experience in the Procurement / Commodity / Sourcing discipline;
  • Ability to travel is required, both foreign and domestic
