Job Description

Group Financial AccountantOne of the most enviable clients in Yorkshire has engaged Gifford and Partners to appoint this hugely visible and pivotal role of Group Financial Accountant. With direct exposure to the CFO and Group FC and the opportunity to form a business partnership with senior Finance and operational managers across the business this role is certainly one that steps out of the shadows of being anything but routine and IFRS, and into the limelight of fast pace, energetic and interesting accounting! Other responsibilities of this role include and are not limited to;

  • Financial Reporting including half and full-year accounting and consolidation (the perfect view of the whole business!)
  • Preparation of Group Management Accountant including commentary and Financial Analysis (visionary and insightful information that supports commercial decision making)
  • Taking a lead relationship with the banks and lenders managing extremely large cash values
  • Adhoc projects around supporting systems, better processes, accounting standards, changes to the group structures
    • Essentially this role is targeting a qualified ACA/ACCA likely making their first step into industry from a top10 practice where they have managed a similar corporate blue-chip portfolio and understand the complexity and requirements presented in a shareholder driven business. It will require a careful eye for the detail and exquisite articulation when it comes to writing reports for the CFO and senior leadership. This also goes hand in hand with the need to have excellent communication skills in this highly visible role and the requirement for stakeholder management.A truly excellent opportunity to springboard your career and stepping stone into either a controllership or commercial role.
