Job Description

Job Title: DesignerLocation: MorleySalary: Starting salary will be £21,840Job Type: Full Time, PermanentClosing Date: 5th December 2020An opportunity has arisen to join this award winning printing company as PrePress Mac Operator / Artworker in the busy PrePress department.Responsibilities:

  • Layup and making of plates for the press room.
  • Producing print ready artwork from client briefs using core design applications on Apple Macintosh computers.
  • Reporting to the departmental manager on a daily basis.
  • Helping set up and run a wide range of digital machinery for large format point of sale, short run digital jobs and banners.
    • Candidate:The applicant must have experience of working with Macs within the graphic design and print industry. Working as part of a studio team you will be preparing files for print using customers supplied artwork as well as jobs designed in house. You must be confident working with Adobe Creative suites, including InDesign, Illustrator and Photoshop. The applicant will have a working knowledge of pagination, bleed, colour splits and overprint. A background using variable data and Excel spreadsheets would be preferable but not essential.The applicant must be able to work well in a busy office and be able to react quickly to a rapidly changing work load.This is a full time, permanent role based in Morley, just outside of Leeds (LS27 postcode). Core hours are Monday to Friday, 0800 to 1700 with an hour for lunch. Overtime will be necessary and on an ad hoc basis.
