Job Description

Junior BuyerPermanentYeadonImmediate startGlobal manufacturing organisation Are you a Buyer with 1 -2 years experience within industry looking for a new, promising oipportunityIf so, our client is a leading manufacturing business who specialise in delivering precision components for a variety of industries such as aerospace, powergeneration and oil and & gas.Management of materials supply to support production requirements whilst maintaining inventory and cost control.Junior BuyerRole Profile:

  • Generation and management of purchase orders using SAP ordering system.
  • Plan and schedule material deliveries in line with production plans.
  • Work closely with Production and Planning departments to avoid manufacturing delays.
  • Liaise with Production Control Department to ensure that key suppliers have up to date forecasts.
  • Work closely with key suppliers to ensure on time delivery.
  • Manage inventory levels.
  • Contract negotiation and implementation.
  • Monthly adherence to budget cost metrics.
  • Control of Material Usage and Price Variance.
  • Supplier / material cost reduction initiatives.
  • Monthly supplier reviews / conference calls.
  • Provision of ad hock Management information reports using Microsoft Excel.
  • Supplier quality adherence.
  • Play an active role in scrap reduction initiatives.
Experience / skills
  • Degree qualified, or apprenticeship trained
  • We are looking for a Buyer with some experience in Scheduling/Planning and who is used to working to strict lead times.
  • Preferably working within a manufacturing organisation, purchasing for production
Hours of work:7.30 to 16.30 Mon/Tues7.30 to 16.15 Wed/Thurs7.30 to 12.00 noon FridayBenefits25 days annual leave + bank holidaysFantastic pension scheme3x annual salary life assurance
