Job Description

Could you be our next General Manager Were looking for a hands-on individual to oversee our order process from start to finish. We have built two strong and reputable brands, Toggi and Champion, and provide a wide range of products to retailers throughout the UK.We are looking for a General Manager who will oversee the full order processes of the business. Were looking for a commercially astute team leader with strong negotiation skills. You should be comfortable dealing efficiently with all issues as and when they arise.About the General Manager Role:Reporting into the Managing Director, you will form a key part of the senior leadership team, which will encompass complete management of the sales order and fulfilment process.You will have the opportunity to

  • Take responsibility for the companys commercial performance and work to improve all operational procedures.
  • Act as the lead on key commercial negotiations, such as pricing and discount negotiations.
  • Work with both the Sales and Operations Functions teams to provide pricing, commercial analysis and advice.
  • Offer ideas and concepts which can be implemented practically to further drive the business efficiency.
  • Lead on the development and promotion of continuous improvement within the department.
You will also be responsible for:
  • Managing and reporting on organisational productivity and efficiency.
  • Implementing formal sales reviews with appropriate departmental representation.
  • Reviewing and approving operational invoices.
  • Managing customer demand with accurate forecasting to facilitate capacity planning.
  • Ensuring compliance with laws and regulations.
  • Creating new product codes & price lists.
  • Being an escalation point for customer queries and those from the Sales Team.
  • Liaison and support of the field sales team.
  • Liaison and support with key customers.
  • Prioritising orders for dispatch and allocating stock.
The Ideal General Manager:We are looking for someone with at least three years experience in operations management, project management or similar roles.The right person will have a track record of high performance and the ability to deliver outstanding results consistently.Ideally, you will have knowledge and experience of retailer relationships in the equine market.Required Skills and Experience:
  • Strong leadership and negotiation skills. You must be comfortable having difficult conversations with clients and suppliers about costs and discounts.
  • Strong data analysis skills and ability to create performance reports. Experience with statistical analysis and data processing is essential.
  • IT Literate with strong Microsoft Excel skills and a working knowledge of ERP systems.
  • Strong ability to problem-solve, critically think, and understand complex problems.
  • High level of business and commercial acumen with strong verbal and written communication.
  • Knowledge of customs procedures and formalities.
  • Ability to take direction as well as manage your own time.
  • Ability to present recommendations to senior management in a clear and concise manner.
