Job Description

Job Title: Garment Assistant Salary: 19,00022,000Location: LeedsSector / Industry: Manufacturing Job Reference: VM2021GARMDo you have a passion for anything and everything to do with textilesDo you have a good knowledge and understanding around the manufacturing from concept to brief If you have a relevant degree or hands on experience. I want to hear from you! Ive partnered with an exciting business who are experiencing real growth within the company and due to this, they are seeking individuals who are passionate about textiles and manufacturing.As a Garment Technologist, you will support the design team and be closely involved with taking a concept from design brief, through the sampling and approval process and into production for delivery to their clients.Your duties would include:

  • Developing new products
  • Creating initial design CAD approvals
  • Creating design packs showcasing products to customers
  • Creating embroidery files and samples
  • Producing detailed production specs
  • Sourcing fabric and components
  • Ordering cloth & trims once approved and monitor delivery
  • Liaising with suppliers and building strong relationships
  • Working closely with the production team to ensure order deadlines are met
  • Quality checking new products
Required skills and experience:
  • Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
  • Experience in Adobe Illustrator and/or Photoshop and InDesign
  • Pattern knowledge and technical garment construction is an advantage
  • Excellent communication and relationship building skills
  • Ability to effectively manage varying tasks and changing demands
  • Use own initiative
