Job Description

Job Title: Full Stack Django EngineerLocation: LeedsSalary (£35K-£55K):Type: Remote/Working from HomeStart Date: Immediately (flexible for notice periods)We are hiring for a Full Stack Django Engineer with 4-5 years experience, you will be building a wide variety of APIs and Web Applications for both internal and external users. Our engineering culture promotes 3 modes of operation i.e. Specification, Buildingand Shipping.Duties of a Full Stack Django EngineerIn this role you will primarily working alongside other Engineers (Backend, Data, Full Stack and Machine Learning), Data Scientists and Products Owners.Starting off the day you would normally have in mind what you want to achieve that day. Everything else that adds no value is ruthlessly stripped away e.g. meetings are kept to a minimum and on call stand-ups we dont do. Rather you post your goals everyday, you might look at what everyone else has posted and maybe provide some input into their work if you feel you have something to contribute and vice versa.You might use our Engineering Labs forum to raise some thoughts to get input, or you might be on a project steering meeting to gather some direction. In any case, youre in the driving seat and with help always at hand youll soon have a clear idea of whatneeds to be done.Skills and experience of a Full Stack Django Engineer

  • Work closely with colleagues to design and build APIs, database schemes and front-end views which ultimately allow our users to support our customers better.
  • Integrate with Third party APIs
  • Write minimal yet meaningful documentation
  • Researching and adhering to best practices
  • Keeping our test coverage high
  • Learning some new technology and reporting back on it
  • Mentoring other engineers in your area of expertise or projects you worked on previously
As a Python Backend Engineer, you need have experience with;
  • Working on CI/CD pipelines
  • Re-factoring for simplicity
  • Troubleshooting, debugging and bug fixes
  • Optimising for performance
