Job Description

Forklift DriverLate ShiftStarting hourly rate £10.00 per hour plus 20% shift allowanceFull Time; PermanentLeeds LS10,West YorkshireProfileOur client, based on the outskirts of Leeds, has been established 23 years and is the market leader in the manufacture of furniture for the Hospitality Industry. They manufacturer and fit out Hotels with bespoke furniture for clients such as Hilton, Sheraton,Holiday Inn & Crowne Plaza.The business continues to go from strength to strength, due to expansion and growth within the business, they are currently recruiting for General Operatives.The company operates within a dynamic and fast paced environment. Therefore, they are looking for punctual, courteous, and reliable people to join their expanding company.Job PurposeTo move goods, loaded pallets and equipment safely and securely. In addition to driving forklifts there will be a range of other warehouse duties such as assistance on beam saw and press.Responsibilities but not limited to: -

  • Basic Health and Safety awareness, including manual handling keeping knowledge up to date
  • Manoeuvring forklifts safely in a busy factory environment.
  • Safely stacking and unstacking large quantities of goods onto shelves or pallets
  • Moving goods from storage areas to loading areas for transport.
  • Unloading deliveries and safely relocating the goods to their designated storage area
  • Ensuring that forklift driving areas are free from spills or obstructions
  • Regularly checking forklift equipment for faults or damages
  • Using industrial plastic wraps and wooden pallets to safely stack and package goods for transport
Essential Skills: -
  • A willingness and desire to learn and support with various aspects within the factory. Areas include beam saw, CNC and Edge Bander
  • Work as part of a time
  • Opportunities for progression for hardworking and willing candidates
  • Have ability to work to a high standard of quality
  • Good communication skills, able to communicate at all levels
  • Have the ability to use your own initiative
