Job Description

Sellick Partnership has been engaged to recruit an interim Financial Accoutantm for a duration of 6 months, on behalf of an NHS organisation, based in Yorkshire. The main purpose of the role will be to provide senior leadership and staff oversight for thedelivery of a financial accounting and financial services function. The role will provide senior support to produce annual statutory financial accounts and be cover for aspects of treasury management.This role will provide senior support for the creation and implementation of sound financial controls, reconciliations, cash management, invoice approval and payment in line with the prime financial policies and other policies and procedures for the protectionand probity of financial resources allocatedYou will have responsibility for supporting the development of wider expertise and understanding of functions within financial services and financial accounts. Operating at a senior level manager within a central team for the purpose of delivering financialaccounts and financial services functions.This post will support a focus on improvement of systems and processes to ensure the financial control function is as effective and efficient as possible, as well as managing delivery of day-to-day responsibilities.You will provide senior leadership across financial accounts and financial services functions including Annual Accounts, Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable functions and will support the preparation of statutory accounts and returns, ensuring workis completed in line with timescales and legal requirements, including Agreement of Balance with NHS organisations and Whole Government Accounting bodies.It is essential that you have strong technical skills, and that you are able to advise on technical accounting issues which may be complex or sensitive in nature e.g., VAT and payroll and a customer-oriented service in respect of financial queries from customers,suppliers, and staff.Required Experience for this financial accountant role:Controls, Reconciliations, Cash , Annual Accounts, Agreement of Balances, Accounts Receivable, Balance Sheet Reconciliations, Policies and ProceduresYou will have had prior dealing with:Internal and External Audit, SBS, Oracle, Excel skillsThe successful applicant will be a qualified accountant (ACA or ACCA or CIMA) who has experience within a similar role within the NHSThe successful candidate will need to demonstrate a good understanding of strong technical skills, and have a proven track record of influencing and working with both internal and external auditors.If you consider yourself to be a committed, career driven professional who can demonstrate the above experience and who would welcome the stimulus of this finance post then we would be pleased to hear from you.If you would like to apply for this role or would like to find out more, please apply online.Sellick Partnership is a market-leading professional services recruitment specialist operating across the UK.
