Focusing on your success and for what’s next, will ensure you thrive too.Role and key responsibilitiesThis role reports into the Group Financial Controller, working within a team of 10 people in the Group Financial Control team. The Group Financial Control team are responsible for global financial control including both internal and external Group reporting.This interim role will focus on various projects to embed SAP within Eversheds Sutherland (International) LLP. The firm has gone through a successful transition to a new accounting system earlier this year leading to resource requirements to embed the newsystem into the team. This role will require strong liaison with the members of the central and wider Finance team responsible for financial control.This role is a project based role. Example projects include:

• Involvement in our external reporting processes to prepare the team for the first year end audit on SAP, e.g. extended trial balance preparation.
• Investigation into new statutory accounts software to consider replacing our current package.
• Drive embedding controls both within the UK and internationally, e.g. system controls, balance sheet reconciliation processes, etc.
• Improve the quality of balance sheet reconciliations post transition to the new accounting system - Investigation and clearance of aged items, ensure appropriate supporting papers, etc.
• Lead on international GAAP conversions for our international teams ahead of their external audits.
• Involvement in intercompany reconciliations to ensure that our statutory position aligns across the firm.
• Lead on international external audits on our overseas subsidiaries.
• Work with the Tax team on reconciliation of reserves by legal entity to ensure these are accounted for correctly locally and at a Group level.

Skills and experienceWe are looking for:

• Strong technical knowledge of FRS102 demonstrated by excellent Financial Control experience.
• Professionally qualified accountant with a broad range of experience.
• Advanced excel skills required.
• Partnership and international experience preferred but not essential.
