Job Description

This role of Finance Assistant is a pivotal position in our clients Accounting & Finance department and will be based at their offices in East Leeds. The successful candidate will contribute to the successful running of finance operations across the organisation.Client DetailsThe organisation is a prominent multi-academy trust based in Leeds. Comprising of several schools, it is dedicated to providing high-quality education and fostering a positive learning environment for students. With a robust team, the trust is committedto continuous improvement and operational excellence.Description· To keep accurate data and financial records for all income and expenditure· To raise sales invoices and process receipts as requested· To process purchase orders and purchase invoices daily· To complete supplier statement reconciliations· To assist in the preparation of payment runs· To assist with administration duties including supporting the admin of the payment platform and cashless cateringsystem· To produce monthly debtor reports and chase outstanding balances when required· To deal with queries from suppliers, debtors, budget holders and other staff· To assist with month-end procedures· To assist in finance year-end procedures· To assist the Director of Finance to evaluate internal controls, identify solutions and revised controls· To support audit work upon request· To work as part of the centralised finance team and to provide support at other academies as requiredProfileA successful Finance Assistant should have:

  • Proficient in financial software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Aptitude for numerical accuracy and attention to detail.
  • A sound understanding of financial regulations and standards.
  • Excellent experience in purchase ledger.
  • Experience in a relevant or similar sector.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
