Job Description

An employer of choice and finance centre of excellence has appointed Gifford and Partners to appoint a Finance and compliance Manager. This role will not only be responsible for all compliance matters, but also project managing the SOx programme and ensuringthat other regulatory matters, including statutory accounts and VAT/Tax returns, are submitted accurately and on time. Other responsibilities will include and not be limited to;

  • Work with the senior finance team and board to co-ordinate the preparation of statutory accounts for multiple entities.
  • Work with external advisers to ensure corporation tax payments on account, corporation tax returns and VAT returns are completed accurately and on time.
  • Track other finance compliance matters, including PAYE, PSA and payment practices submissions.
  • Review our compliance tracker and assist with decisions on jobs where the client has cross border elements covering risks within VAT, transfer pricing, corporation tax, PAYE and withholding tax.
  • Co-ordinate the SOx compliance programme, whilst ensuring controls are embedded into core finance teams and tracking in line with operational controls.
  • Work with SOx implementation partner and external financial auditors to track issues and ensure prompt remediation of any findings.
  • Develop monthly SOx reporting to enable ongoing discussions with the Board.
Ideally this role is targeting a qualified ACA/ACCA/CIMA accountant with post qualified experience and knowledge of statutory accounts, corporation tax and VAT matters. Exposure to operating/testing internal financial controls (SOx experience) is preferred.Expected at this level and with the anticipated exposure this role will bring, essentially this role is targeting a confident individual with good interpersonal skills, able to influence stakeholders at all levels, deliver through others and communicate withprecision and ease. It is likely the you will have a continuous improvement mindset - have experience of resolving issues as they arise and implementing new processes to enhance a financial control environment.
