Our client is a major international business with several office locations throughout the UK and world. For their Leeds office, they are looking for a 2nd Line Systems Administrator for a mixture of Deskside and remote support. The role will be 80% basedin Leeds with some remote working and occasional travel to other sites. The Leeds site is quite large so can expect to walk 2miles + on a typical day.Specific Responsibilities:IT System Administrators are mainly responsible for the smooth running of computer systems and ensuring that end users get maximum benefits from them. They are responsible to make sure that all IT equipment on site (i.e. Servers, Telephony, LAN, end usersequipment .) is up and running and that set-up is done in a controlled way in line with the company standards. Individual tasks may vary but do include: Install and configure computer hardware, operating systems and applications Knowledgeable on M365 Monitor and maintain computer systems and networks Support Server Infrastructure on prem and in Azure Troubleshoot system and network problems Provide support to staff/clients in line with the agreed time limits, including procedural documentation and relevant reports Prioritize open cases and incidents. Update documentation and policies & procedures documentation and provide relevant reports to IT management. Administrate users on company systems, including password issues. Administrate mail users. Ensure that the computer systems at your responsible site are backed up. Test, evaluate and support the implementation of new technology. Support the roll-out of new applications Coordinate alignment between local plant management and European IT management with regards to mid and long-term requirements.EXPERIENCE: Strong Knowledge of basic computer hardware. Experience with desktop operating systems including (Windows mainly but Linux, and Mac OS nice to have) Experience of Server Infrastructure Experience of Azure and cloud technologies (any work on prem to cloud highly desirable) A good level of understanding of operation systems, server hardware, SAN and network is required M365 or O365 - setting up and administrating accounts, etc. Knowledge of virtualization software and virtual desktop technology (Citrix) Networking Skills, Switches, Routers, Wifi. (Understand LAN/WAN/DHCP/DNS). CCNA nice to have but not essential just a good understanding of networks, flush a policy, ping a network, etc Extensive User support experience. Working knowledge of a range of diagnostic utilities. Strong documentation skills.
