Job Description

Electrical Maintenance Engineer£44,000Location - Leeds2x Shift (Earlies/Lates)gap technical are proud to be representing this Market Leading manufacturing business in their search for an Electrical Maintenance Engineer to work at their facility based near LeedsPerformance Objectives

  • Reporting to the Engineering Manager, the Maintenance Engineer will be expected to react to any machinery breakdowns, identify the fault and rectify in a timely manner to ensure minimal downtime of equipment/plant processes.
  • Ability to analyse and offer improvement to plant and processes, Understand the need to eliminate repeat breakdowns using techniques such as RCA, 5 Whys, FMEAs
  • Carry out pre planned preventative maintenance to reduce unexpected machinery breakdowns and always ensure maximum availability of equipment.
  • Involvement in ongoing/future projects, taking a leading role.
  • Good TPM knowledge alongside 5S, lean manufacturing,
  • Assist with implementation of new CMMS system alongside Engineering Manager
  • Ensure work area and engineering workshop are kept to a high housekeeping standard,
Person Specification
  • Electrical maintenance engineer with relevant professional qualifications.
  • Although electrically biased the candidate will be expected to carry out/assist with mechanical work as required.
  • Experience in wire drawing industry desirable,
  • Must be capable of working unsupervised and will be expected to fault find and carry out subsequent defect rectification.
  • Strong knowledge of PLCs, Inverters and drives. Eurotherm, WEG and ABB amongst others.
  • Must be able to read Electrical Schematics
  • Must be a good team member, but role will involve some lone working.
  • Assist with future projects and mods made to old machinery
  • Training the less experienced members of the team.
  • Strong TPM knowledge and Root cause analysis skills
  • Mentoring Apprentice.
