Job AdvertWant to join an award winning Legal and Compliance team supporting a business going through transformational changeThis position is a Manager role supporting the Senior Manager for Economic Regulatory Compliance (ERC), part of the Legal and Compliance team that won In House Commerce and Industry Team of the Year at this years Lawyer Awards.The role involves helping the Senior Manager to develop the strategy and delivery of Asda Groups ERC procedures including third party due diligence and monitoring, policies, governance, training and awareness. The areas in scope for review are to be determinedbased upon an assessment of risk and the business risk appetite, and a flexible approach is required to adapt to emerging regulatory regimes/changes to the company risk appetite. This currently focusses on the areas of Financial Services, Anti-Money Laundering,offences related to the facilitation of tax evasion, and anti-bribery.Your Role

  • Horizon scan, risk assess and be curious on emerging compliance risks that may impact Asda, supporting the Senior Manager in ensuring the resources of the team are best applied to the risks facing Asda.
  • Help to develop Asda Groups ERC related procedures through drafting policy documents, guidance, process flows, ways of working, forms and checklists to be utilised both within the team and by the business.
  • Help to implement Asda Groups ERC related procedures through working collaboratively with the business, embedding process and controls within manual and automated systems to ensure efficient and risk-based approach to compliance, conducting due diligenceand screening on third parties where required and providing approvals and advice to the business.
  • Working with the team to assist with the development and implementation of the procedures, ensuring that responsibilities such as due diligence and approval workflows are documented adequately and delivered within relevant SLAs.
  • Supporting with both developing training materials and conducting training where required to colleagues on ERC related areas.
  • Supporting ad hoc projects within the wider Legal and Compliance team.
About youKnowledge: The role requires experience working in ethics and compliance with a broad understanding of ERC regulatory areas, including anti-bribery, Financial Services, Anti-Money Laundering, and offences related to the facilitation of taxevasion.Communicating and Influencing: This is a management role, requiring you to collaborate with and maintain a network of peers and contacts across multiple business areas. You will comfortably challenge, confront and solve difficult situations.You will need to be comfortable communicating and delivering training and awareness to all levels of the business. You will achieve results through inspiring and motivating your team and the business to take action and deliver against the strategyFreedom to Think and Act: This role requires autonomous thinking combined with an understanding of the legal requirements relating to various ERC areas. You will implement strategy using your experience and network of peers guided by principlesof risk.
