Job Description

Early Years PractitionerLocation: Garforth (LS25).Salary: Competitive, based on experience and qualifications.Hours: Full-time, 40 hours per week.Veritas Education is a reputable and dynamic early years agency dedicated to providing high-quality care and education for young children. As an Early Years Practitioner, you will play a vital role in delivering outstanding care and education to children aged between 0-5 years. You will work in a collaborativeand supportive environment that values the unique contributions of each team member, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the early experiences of children, providing a nurturing and enriching environment for their development. You will be responsible forcreating engaging learning opportunities, promoting social and emotional development, and ensuring the well-being of the children in your care.Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and implement age-appropriate activities that promote childrens learning and development in line with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework.
  • Create a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment that encourages childrens social, emotional, physical, and cognitive growth.
  • Build positive and respectful relationships with children, parents, and colleagues.
  • Observe and assess childrens progress, maintaining accurate records to inform individualized learning plans.
  • Potentially support children with special educational needs (SEN) and adapt activities to meet their unique requirements, SEN is a growing need within nursery settings now.
  • Ensure that health and safety standards are always upheld, identifying and addressing any potential hazards promptly.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to share ideas and best practices, contributing to the continuous improvement of our early years provision.
  • Attend relevant training and professional development opportunities to stay updated on best practices and emerging trends in early childhood education.
Qualifications and Requirements:
  • Minimum Level 2 or Level 3 qualification in Early Years Education or equivalent (e.g., CACHE Level 3 Diploma in Childcare and Education).
  • A strong understanding of the EYFS framework and its application in early years settings.
  • Previous experience working with young children in an early years education setting.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team and build positive relationships with children, parents, and colleagues.
  • Knowledge of child safeguarding procedures and a commitment to ensuring the safety and well-being of all children in our care.
  • First Aid certification (desirable but not essential).
