Job Description

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Delivery Manager to join our team. This is for a period of up to 12-months to cover maternity leave. In this role you will Lead, and line manage a team of up to 8 software development professionals focusedon delivering a combination of strategic development, small change, live incident fixes and problem resolution. You will create and cultivate the right environment for the team to succeed, helping the team to self-organise and creating a culture of learningand transparency.What you will be doing:

  • Responsible for planning, leading, organising, and motivating the team to achieve a high level of performance and quality in line with agreed quality standards
  • Facilitate the formation of a cohesive, effective, cross-functional delivery team with no product knowledge gaps
  • Partner with Product Owner and Project Manager (where one is required) to aid an accurate definition of intent, delivery approach, milestones and deliverables.
  • Collaborate with the Product Owner to ensure that everything delivered adds business value, balances technical debt and is realistic
  • Ensure that the charitys agreed Change Management Framework (CMF) is being followed in order to optimise delivery
  • Keep abreast with the pace of change of relevant agile tools and techniques that could be beneficial if implemented
  • Improve the overall productivity of the team, driving improvements to processes or technology changes and actively seeking to remove roadblocks and handoffs
What we want from you:
  • Previous line management experience, ideally of a multi-disciplinary team
  • Proven experience using agile methodologies
  • Knowledge of suitable tools and techniques to enable a delivery team to deliver measurable value
  • Experience recruiting and building a winning team
  • Good understanding of software development methodologies
  • Experience in the delivery of large scale or complex change
  • Experience of creating a culture of continuous improvement
  • Coaching and feedback
  • Strong leadership and facilitation skills
  • Experience of working as a scrum master with certification being (desirable)
