Job Description

HW People are supporting a Leeds based legal service firm looking for an ambitious Data Protection Officer/Advisor to join their dynamic and growing team.In this role, you will be the initial point of contact for clients ranging from small businesses to large multi-national corporates providing clear concise advice and consultation, as well as supporting the wider team with cases that require further investigation,therefore broad knowledge in all aspects of information law is fundamental.This fantastic role requires you to demonstrate practical knowledge specifically applying GDPR/Data Protection/Cyber Security law to guide and advise clients as the business expands their services due to increased demand. Ideally, youll have a recogniseddata protection/information governance qualification or can demonstrate experience working within a law firm, large private or public sector organisation.Key areas of responsibility:

  • GDPR, DPA & PECR (e-Privacy) consultancy
  • Provision of data protection training
  • Onsite and remote consultancy and support
  • Taking witness statements and preparing reports
  • Assisting solicitors and counsel to prepare court cases
  • Data-flow mapping
  • Managing data subject access and freedom of information requests
  • Advising on and undertaking DPIA and other data-related risk assessments
  • Provision of information security advice
  • Undertaking compliance reviews and audits
Salary range £45,000 - £55,000 with hybrid working model (office / remote) plus excellent benefits.This is a well-rounded role giving the successful candidate broad exposure and development in a fast growing organisation.To be considered for this exciting opportunity, please reply with your CV.
