Job Description

Fixed Term Role until Aug 2021WHAT WE DO The Music, Media, and Performance Production team delivers Level 1 , 2 and 3 BTEC programmes in TV & Film Production, Dance, Musical Theatre, Journalism, Music Production, Acting, Theatre Design, Music Performance and Technical Theatre. We work with around 700 students each year at our recently opened Quarry Hill campus. In partnership with the Visual and Digital Arts team we are a hub of creativity for the city based on a site at the heart of Leeds Creative Quarter.WHAT YOU WILL DO

  • This role is to lead on the planning and delivery of the BTEC Level 3 Theatre Design and Production courses
  • Working alongside the Programme Manager you will ensure the learners enjoy their studies, achieve their qualification and progress onto work, apprenticeships or Higher Education, there is a skilled and industry experienced teaching team already in place that delivers high quality training to these students
  • Responsible for retention, achievement, progress/value added, attendance and positive progression rates for an identified course or courses
  • Plan, prepare and develop schemes of work, lesson plans, teaching and learning resources and assessment plans and ensure these are in place for all the course(s) teaching activity.
    • YOUR PROFILE
  • Holds a L5 Teaching Qualification (e.g. Cert Ed, PGCE)
  • Relevant highest level vocational qualification or degree in teaching subject
  • Relevant highest level vocational qualification or degree in teaching subject
  • Relevant up to date subject knowledge and recent delivery in the Further Education or school sector
  • Will have experience of student pastoral care, BTEC planning and assessment and the backstage elements of theatre
