Job Description

In addition, youll still have the chance to acquire a breadth of experience, knowledge and skills at the pace you have gained in practice but with the added benefit of you being able to add real tangible value.Your RoleAs an accountant within the Corporate Accounts team, you will combine your technical knowledge with communication and prioritisation skills to ensure that we maintain a strong control environment and help the business to meet its objectives.

  • Executing and improving our key statutory reporting processes (e.g. annual accounts preparation and approval, liaising with other key stakeholders such as Tax, FP&A and External Audit)
  • Taking responsibility for key control processes in the Statutory Reporting teams remit (e.g. month-end reconciliation preparation and review activities; reconciling external and intercompany debt balances and transactions; accounting for FX-denominated transactions including foreign currency hedges; cash repatriation planning, approval and execution)
  • Execution of various month-end group reporting processes for a variety of audiences
  • Project responsibilities relating to the evolution of the group structure, associated statutory reporting and group reporting processes following Asdas proposed transition to new ownership
  • Participating in cross-functional projects which improve the efficiency and effectiveness of our statutory reporting processes and corporate structure
    • About You
  • You will be a qualified accountant either ACA, ACCA or CIMA
  • Ability to identify and execute accounting and control projects to improve our control environment
  • You will have a strong academic background be confident liaising with people at all levels, and have great analytical, communication and judgement skills
  • You must be proficient in the use of Excel; experience in use of digital analytics tools is desirable
