Job Description

Job AdvertDo you have a background in accountancy or audit Do you want to add value and see the fruits of your labour realised Do want the opportunity to join a key team in Finance delivering high-quality financial information to the business and our externalstakeholdersYou will help deliver both our internal fixed assets and lease reporting, alongside working closely with our Corporate accounting team to help deliver external reporting to our investors and other stakeholders. You will gain visibility across various areasof Finance and the wider business whilst developing a great understanding of Asdas financial performance. You will have the opportunity to drive improvements to key processes and adapt our ways of working to new, as well help implement our new systems aspart of Project Future.Your RoleYou will be a key part of the Controllership team, combining your technical knowledge with communication and prioritisation skills to ensure that we deliver robust and informative financial reporting. Responsibilities include

  • Technical accounting responsibility for the key lease and capital areas, including management of the asset register and accounting advisory to a range of internal customers;
  • Executing and improving our key processes across fixed assets and leases;
  • Taking responsibility for key control processes in the Property and Statutory Reporting teams remit;
  • Driving further efficiency and effectiveness in our processes using digital tools and automation.
About You
  • You will be a qualified accountant either ACA, CIMA, ACCA or MBA
  • Ability to identify and execute accounting and control projects to improve our control environment
  • You must be proficient in the use of Excel; experience in use of digitalanalyticstools isdesirable
  • You must have demonstrable attention to detail, strong verbal and written communication skills and an ability to multitask, prioritise and work at pace
  • Experience in auditing or preparation of statutory accounts would be preferred
