Compliance HSQE Manager - Salary: £37k per annum, with annual reviewFull time 8 am to 5pm Monday to FridayLeeds - on site parkingOur client is a growing external hoarding company covering the whole of the United Kingdom. They specialise in external hoarding systems and they are currently one of the few PVC hoarding systems erected in the UK. Their client base includes the market leaders in the construction industry. They have been in business for 5 years, with annual turnover growing by on average 60% per year.Main purpose of the role·Management and completion of SSIP’s and Supplier PQQs.·Yard Management (stock control, working practices, safety standards, ordering of components).·Traffic Management (six weekly inspections, regular inspections, Defect reports, Taco management, MOTs, services, replacement parts etc).·Supports the Contracts managers to continually improve, implement and maintain the H&S management system.·Maintain good standards of company vehicles with the contracts managers.·Lead regular H&S meetings with Supervisors and contracts managers.·Advise managers and supervisors in their responsibilities for health and safety.·Undertake investigations.·Ensure any recommendations or actions are forwarded to the appropriate contracts managers.·Provide in house training relating to health & safety and oversee staff carrying out individual learning/PDP completion.·As necessary, support external audit preparation.·At all times maintain an awareness of health & safety legislation and proposed legislation, codes of practice, and activity in the health & safety field in other industries and companies to ensure that up to date knowledge and continued appropriateness of company policies and procedures.·Management of the training matrix and safety reports/near miss recording/accident recording.·Management and recording of the company’s waste management and recycling. Contribute to the company’s commitment to reduce waste to landfill.·Management of the office and yard, overseeing repair works and regular contracts for subcontractors.·Aid in the development of existing policies & procedures.·Be responsible for the audit programme and undertake audits & actions.·Risk assess work areas, develop Risk Assessments, Method Statements, Control of Substances Hazardous to Health regulations.·Deliver tool box talks, safety inductions & provide support & advice to colleagues.·Reporting of accidents, incidents & near misses in an accurate & timely fashion & assist with investigations in accordance with company policies & procedures.·Conduct regular reviews on corrective actions arising from accidents & incidents.·Overview and management of office functioning including product ordering and employee absence management.·Carry out any other reasonable request made by the Directors, General Manager and / or clients.Experience required·NEBOSH General Certificate preferred.·5 years’ experience in a hands on H&S position in a Construction environment.·Experience of managing change, responsibilities across the entire process including the population of draft policies.·Computer literate.·Highly organised & keen eye for detail.·Professional, friendly manner - to integrate with the team.Desirable qualities & skills·CMIOSH.·Experience carrying out training.·Driving LicenseKey Performance Indicators (KPIs)·To be agreedTerms and conditions of employmentSalary: £37k per annum, with annual review3 month probationary periodHours: 8.00am until 5.00pm Monday to FridayUnpaid lunch break: 45 minutes each dayPaid overtime worked as required.Car parking availableOccasional national travel and overnight stays (site visits where CW cannot attend - unlikely)Holiday: 20 days, plus bank holiday Required skills
