Job AdvertCan you add value in a fast-paced commercialenvironment Are you looking for an opportunityto providelegal advice at the cutting edge of an extremely competitive industry Do you desire the opportunity to broaden your legal expertise across allareasAs a Legal Manager, you will partner with our commercial teams to provide clear, straightforward legal advice to meet strategic goals and support supplier relationships. You will be actively encouraged to think innovatively about the delivery of legal support,engage in horizon-scanning and provide key advisory on changes in the retail and consumer space.Your RoleThis position is a leadership role with full accountability for the day to day support on GNFR contracts, terminations and contract management as well as leading process improvement projects. The c10 would support an SM who is responsible for multiple BusinessUnits. The position would rotate around the Business Units to ensure a holistic view of GNFR contracts required by the business and ensure a strong talent pipeline.

  • Managesexternal legal teamon specific outsourced projects (where relevant)
  • Engages with stakeholders who input to the GNFR contracts e.g. Info Sec, Privacy, Finance
  • Accountable for the legal advice for each matter assigned to the role, with support from the SM responsible for the Business Unit, including:-
  • advice on how to best structure arrangements with external suppliers;
  • the negotiation and drafting of the legal documentation tosupport those arrangements;
  • continuousimprovement and best in class contract advice
  • Idea generation and implementation of (where appropriate) legalself-service goals
  • Maintaining MI and one version of the truth contractsrepositoryin respect of those contracts assigned to the role.
  • Supportingcorporate governance for all contracts assigned to the role.
  • Attending project meetings (where required)
  • Leading regular project manager level calls to touch in on all contracts and/or the pipeline
  • Providing input to legal processes and standard documents
  • Ensures legal advice is delivered in a timely, clear and accessible way and gives appropriate weight to the business units commercial requirements and aims
  • Partners with project managers and stakeholders to deliver the business units legal requirements
About You
  • 2-6+ years experience of providing legal advice on commercial contracts or a complementary area of law e.g. corporate, litigation, etc .
  • A track record of delivering contracts to project timelines
  • Ability to work cross-functionallyand ensure engagement of stakeholders
  • Ability to overlay legal issues in an accessible way and taking into account the commercial requirements
