Job Description

Cloud Engineer (infrastructure)My client has an opportunity open for a cloud engineer with a strong infrastructure background. This role sits within the infrastructure team who are bringing the cloud support internal; therefore this will be a varied role and an excellent opportunity tomake a difference and a mark on your work. The role will quickly move into mentioning other members of the team and eventually a leadership / management role. The ideal Cloud Engineer (infrastructure) needs an understanding of the challenges faced when integratinginternal and externally hosted 3rd party systems, old and new.This role is offered on a remote basis! paying an excellent salary, along with company-funded industries recognised qualifications, an excellent pension and an annual bonus.As a Cloud Engineer (infrastructure) you will have the following tech skills:

  • Windows Server technologies
  • Active Directory, DNS & DHCP
  • VMware vSphere
  • Microsoft Exchange
  • Backup and Recovery procedures
  • Patch cycles and the importance of maintaining a secure environments
  • Previous experience working in a Platform or DevOps Engineering role with experience automating the deployment of solutions to Public Cloud environments such as AWS, GCP or Azure.
  • Experience of Infrastructure as Code (Terraform) and shell scripting (Bash etc.) with knowledge of the tools that underpin modern software development methods, including version control and build tools (Git, Nexus, Jenkins, GitLab, Maven, NPM).
  • Experience of configuration management and the tools commonly used for this within a CI/CD pipeline (Puppet, Chef or Ansible).
  • Knowledge of Kubernetes and Service Mesh.
  • A good knowledge of networking (TCP/IP, DNS, ACLs)
