Job Description

The Climate and Resilience Hub (CRH) at WTW are looking fora talented climate risk and adaptation consultant to join the growing team. Drawing on our global expertise and powered by ClimateQuantified, we provide analytics, advisory and implementationservices to help our clients identify, measure and respond to climate-related risks and opportunities. In doing so, we help build the resilience of the real economy to physical climate change and encourage the transition to net zero.As a Senior Associate, you will continue to build your career helping us continue to shape the climate change adaptation agenda worldwide, working with a wide range of projects and clients globally.The RoleThe role will be to design, support and manage projects serving the CRHs corporate clients. Responsibilities include:

  • Climate risk identification and assessment
  • Financial quantification climate-related risks, e.g. analysis of the current and future costs associated with the impacts of climate hazards such as droughts and heatwaves.
  • Financial appraisal of risk control options, e.g. Nature Based Solutions.
  • Medium and long-term water resource planning and decision making for corporate clients heavily reliant on water for their operations - for example, agricultural, food and beverage, extractives and manufacturing sectors.
  • Workshop design and facilitation
  • Deliver climate risk consultancy projects to help to develop our widerClimateQuantified analytics suite
  • Research climate risk profiles of companies operating in different sectors.
  • Using GIS software and/or programming languages to perform analysis of large geospacial datasets
  • Creation of maps, presentations, analysis, and reports, as required, to appropriate standards, often to short deadlines
  • Proposal writing and business development.
  • Project management.
The Requirements
  • MSc in climate change, physical geography, environmental science/ economics, or related discipline
  • Prior experience inconsulting (or equivalent PhD/ research) experience
  • Water resource planning and climate change
  • Statistical analysis for climate risk and adaption financial and economic appraisal
  • GIS and/or programme languages (e.g. using ArcGIS or QGIS) with experience of weather, climate, hydrological, or satellite remote sensing / earth observation data
  • Proficient user of Microsoft Office suite (esp. Excel)
  • Ability to work independently and possess an entrepreneurial approach
  • Ability to communicate technical information clearly to non-specialists
  • Excellent written and verbal English
  • Fluency in another language e.g., Spanish (desirable)
  • International travel will be required occasionally, subject to COVID-19 restrictions
