Job Description

Primary DetailsTime Type: Full time Worker Type: Employee A permanent, full-time opportunity has arisen withing the Outsource Service Delivery Team (OSDT) to support the development and delivery of the OSDT Strategy and work with the Assistant Claims Manager (ACM) and the Outsource Service Delivery Manager (OSDM)to oversee the governance, selection and performance of third parties with delegated claims authority (DCA). The successful candidate will assist in the development and delivery of a framework of controls across EO claims to continually improve systems andprocesses to control the claims risk environment. A permanent, full-time opportunity has arisen withing the Outsource Service Delivery Team (OSDT) to support the development and delivery of the OSDT Strategy and work with the Assistant Claims Manager (ACM) and the Outsource Service Delivery Manager (OSDM)to oversee the governance, selection and performance of third parties with delegated claims authority (DCA). The successful candidate will assist in the development and delivery of a framework of controls across EO claims to continually improve systems andprocesses to control the claims risk environment. Your responsibilities in this role may include, but are not limited to: • Assist with the development of a strategic governance framework to provide effective assurance that procedures and processes are in place to mitigate the impact of risks arising from the external management of claims • Ensure key operational activities are identified and correctly prioritised • Evaluation of the delegated claims control environment and related risk management • Assist in the management of the provision of external claims handling services in respect of identified EO claims teams or regions, specifically to: • ensure the risk rating methodology remains effective and the data held in respect of DCA providers is accurate; • exposure to contract negotiations and engage with QBEs legal/procurement departments • perform due diligence on any newly proposed DCA providers; • assist to ensure the technical and governance audit plan is completed; • ensure that the business rationale sheets held in respect of existing DCAs are reviewed for accuracy at renewal and create new business rationale sheets where required; • assist with ongoing management of a panel of third-party auditors, ensuring services provided adhere to agreed methodologies; • ensure the bordereaux provided by DCA providers adhere to agreed reporting standards (Lloyds Minimum Standards) and that receipt and verification is tracked appropriately; • in conjunction with EO Legal and Procurement (as appropriate), ensure that DCA provider contracts are regularly reviewed and updated as necessary • Evaluation of the claims control environment and risk management framework; and enhance the OSDT efficiencies via continual evaluation of our working practices and review for offshoring to QBEs Global Shared Services • Monitor the issues identified through audit to ensure effective remedies are implemented within agreed timeframes. • Ensure ongoing oversight and strong relationship management to secure buy-in from DCAs and drive tangible improvement for KPIs including average cost and lifecycle. • Assist on the deployment of external audits with a focus on technical competence, loss fund management and regulatory compliance • Provide advice, in consultation with the OSDM/ACM, on controls to be incorporated into claims change programmes to enable any exposure to third party risk to be mitigated • Design and delivery of various reports to encourage best practice behaviours with continual improvement initiatives • Attend relevant EO governance meetings where required Preferrable but not essential, ability to demonstrate the following qualities and abilities: • Solid organisational skills to plan and manage own workload • An understanding of Company, Lloyds and London Markets and the outsourced claims handling environment in multiple jurisdictions • Able to communicate, negotiate, persuade, and influence at all levels • Ability to build strong business relationships with key DCA providers • Ability to review and interpret data • Able to demonstrate a good level of IT competency including Excel • Exposure to varied classes of business in a claims or audit role • Experience of general insurer claims systems and procedures, and the various market systems Atlas; Charles Taylor TPA Database; Lineage; and ECF - desirable • Team player with a strong analytical and forward-thinking approach with an ability to motivate and achieve required deadlines • Knowledge of regulatory implications of delegated authority arrangement in relation to Lloyds and the FCA.
