Job Description

Child SEN Support Worker - Bradford - PrimaryVeritas Education are on the lookout for Child SEN support workers to work in a primary schools across Bradford and surrounding areas. The schools are mainstream primary schools that have set up resource provisions for pupils with Social Emotional MentalHealth (SEMH) and Special Educational Needs (SEN). Most of the students have an Educational Health Care Plan (EHCP) and they are supported by highly trained team. The ideal candidate needs to be experienced with dealing with challenging behaviours and de-escalationstrategies.Role:

  • Support students with their educational and individual needs in small intervention groups
  • Be confident with managing challenging behaviour by using de-escalating strategies and restorative practice (training is also provided)
  • Build rapport with the children
  • Set clear boundaries and be firm with behaviour management
  • Support the students with their Social Emotional and Mental Health
  • Be proactive and be a positive role model to the pupils
Requirements:
  • Previous experience supporting children in an educational or residential setting is preferred. We will also value experience from a health care setting
  • Have strong knowledge about Social Emotional Mental Health and SEN
  • Candidates must hold or be willing to apply for an enhanced DBS upon successful registration
  • Have proof of eligibility to work in the UK (OSPC is required if you have recently relocated)
