This leading chemical distribution company is looking for a Buyer and Purchasing Coordinator to join their busy Purchasing Department in Leeds, West Yorkshire.Reporting to the Purchasing Manager, the core responsibility of the Buyer and Purchasing Coordinator is to enable the efficient running of the purchasing department, negotiate with suppliers of assigned products and to ensure that products are purchased atthe lowest cost, to specification whilst utilising the best delivery terms for the benefit of the company.ABOUT THE COMPANYThis chemical distribution company is part of a larger group, which includes a portfolio of branded companies of chemical distribution and related chemical services of sample management, storage and blending. To their customers, they provide knowledge and support by adding opportunities and security to the entire supplychain.WHATS ON OFFER* Salary: Highly competitive (depending on experience)* Employment: Full time permanent position* Location: Head office based in Leeds City Centre* Generous holiday entitlement and benefitsTHE ROLE IN A BIT MORE DETAIL...* Negotiate with suppliers of assigned products* Ensure that products are purchased at the lowest cost with the best delivery terms* Order product as required from approved suppliers* Proactively manage slow moving stock* Completing purchase orders and communicating the status with other departments* Develop and maintain relationships with suppliers whilst negotiating effectively* Resolve all delivery incidents, supporting the other purchasing team members* Carry out quarterly supplier appraisals to maximise delivery and quality performance* Manage stock levels in line with the company stock policy and objectives* Ensure new suppliers are fully approved using appropriate documentation* Provide accurate pricing to UK and Export sales teams* Deal with all price discrepancies with suppliers and respond to all Accounts queries* Expedite orders with suppliers* Process all repacks and remarks as requested* Ensure suppliers are made aware of delivery requirements* Send delivery incident reports to suppliersSKILLS & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED* Previous experience in Purchasing is essential* Experience of supplier development * Excellent negotiation and communication skills * Thrives when working under pressure* Computer Literate including Microsoft Office packages* Ideally you will have knowledge of the chemicals industry* CIPS qualified or working towards would be of benefitTo apply for this role, please apply with an up to date CV detailing how your experience matches the requirement of the role.Key Appointments UK Ltd will assess your suitability for the role based on the information contained in your CV and application.
