Job Description

Job Title: Buyer - MECSS Function: Commercial Location: Hybrid/ Carrwood Park, Leeds Type: Fixed term until 31st July 2023 Salary: £30,000 Closing Date: 18th April 2023 NHS Supply Chain have an exciting opportunity for a Buyer to join the team based at Carrwood Park Leeds. The role entails selling the Managed Equipment and Clinical Service Solutions framework into NHS Trusts across the whole of the United Kingdom and supportingthem through the entire procurement process.What does a Buyer do at NHS Supply Chain

  • Selling the NHS Supply Chain Managed Equipment and Clinical Service Solutions (MECSS) framework route to trusts through NHS procurement teams, Finance departments and clinical end users.
  • The Buyer is responsible for bringing in new business, so the Buyer will need to develop a detailed knowledge of the MECSS solutions covered within the framework and understand the benefits for our customers.
  • Offer various service options to NHS customers to meet bespoke requirements for these types of services and offer support in completing template documents.
  • Provide support to our customers through the procurement process to the point of award.
  • Assist NHS trusts with the completion of the service contract between themselves and the awarded framework supplier.
  • Managing and maintaining good relationships with customers and suppliers
  • Develop detailed understanding drives for use of this service and how NHS SC can influence the market.
  • Responsible for the MECSS framework and any retendering work required.
  • Delivery of agreed target financial numbersmargin, revenue, savings for the category.
  • Support the development of the service offer within NHS Supply Chain.
  • Develop and support junior members of the team
  • Ensure all standard operating procedures are followed.
  • Carrying out other duties as and when required.
What skills, qualifications and qualities do I need to be successful
  • Be in a similar role or an assistant buyer looking for next steps
  • Experience in direct contract management
  • Familiar in contract documents
  • Understanding of procurement
  • Customer services orientated
  • Able to prioritise workload
  • Stakeholder management
  • Have the confidence to challenge and problem solve
  • Structured thinking and planning.
  • Computer application proficiencyMS Word, Excel, and Project.
