Job Description

We have an outstanding opportunity for an experienced buyer to join an already well-established client who specialises within interior contracting and shopfitting. The role will be based in Leeds.Our client has a solid reputation with a prestigious client portfolio. If you have experience within the construction industry, shopfitting or manufacturing this could be a fantastic opportunity for you to progress your career and be part of their growthstrategy.You will need to demonstrate experience with managing suppliers, key client relationships and be able to work at pace, be influential and ensure that each project has the equipment needed to complete each project within the specified and agreed time frame.You must have a proven track record sourcing materials and managing budgets.You will need to have worked within a similar industry as there is a need to have ease with measurements and have the analytical understanding to support large scale projects.Our client is offering a competitive salary, this is an excellent opportunity to join a market leader.If you have the experience and required skills, background and knowledge please send us your CV to be considered.We will not be able to respond to all CV applications, if you have not heard from us with 7 days, please assume you have been unsuccessful with your application.Key Responsibilities

  • Sourcing materials requisitioned by the site teams at the best rates and in a timely manner, so they are on site when required.
  • Preparing any queries and enquiries to be sent to relevant parties.
  • Ensure orders are placed within budget, working closely with Quantity Surveyors.
  • Working alongside estimating team at tendering stage to ascertain material prices, as required.
  • Ensuring materials are provided to specifications.
  • Negotiation with suppliers as well as building strong relationships.
  • Raising and sending Purchase Orders to suppliers.
  • Gathering all GRNs and matching against invoices for approval.
  • Working with accounts to ensure all invoices are passed for payment and any credits/queries are resolved with suppliers.
Skills & Knowledge
  • Experience within a similar role and industry (construction, manufacturing)
  • Strong communication skills
  • Sound understanding of the construction process
  • Ability to read drawings and understand specs
  • Sound product and material knowledge
  • Take off materials and produce material schedules
  • Prioritisation of tasks and time management
