Job Description

Bookkeeper Salary: £17/hr dependent on skills and experiencePart time 15 hours per weekstart time & work days negotiableAnnual leave: 22 days plus bank holidays + Company pension scheme, life insurance, Simply Health cash planLeeds LS13Free parkingHydra-Perm-Co-Ltd is a 2nd generation family business established in 1991. We are a team of specialist hydraulic engineers providing bespoke products. Our client base spans many industries and sectors both nationally and internationally.We are looking for an experienced part time Bookkeeper to join our small team, to manage our internal account functions.THE ROLE

  • Full responsibility for managing the day-to-day accounts function ensuring Sage is accurate and up-to-date.
  • Sales and purchase ledger responsibilities; sterling, euro and dollar.
  • Monitor company cashflow, plan and process payments.
  • Daily bank reconciliation in sterling, euro and dollar.
  • Credit control both written and verbal communication with customers.
  • Produce monthly management accounts.
  • Produce and submit quarterly Vat returns.
  • Liaise with third party debt collection agencies when necessary.
  • Coordinate payroll and payment of wages/expenses and company pension scheme.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date stock records and produce monthly stock reports.
  • Maintain and diarise renewals of equipment service records and liaise with contractors.
  • Produce financial reports for the Managing Director upon request.
THE CANDIDATEThe successful candidate for the position of Bookkeeper will possess the following core competencies:
  • Experienced bookkeeper.
  • Proficient in Sage.
  • Rationale thinker with a sound commercial awareness and an understanding for business.
  • Excellent communication skills in writing and verbal communication.
  • Excellent time management / organisational skills.
  • Good team player and independent worker.
  • Demonstrates a high degree of confidentiality.
  • Excellent IT skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
It is essential that the successful candidate has experience working in a similar role and can hit the ground running.
