Job Description

We’re looking for a Binding Authority Technician to join us on a 9 month fixed term contract.With some previous DUA, cover holder or binding authority experience you will complete the due diligence and onboarding of new and renewal cover holders. Working primarily on Lloyds and Financial Lines binders, you will have good attention to detail and becomfortable working with a variety of stakeholders across Travelers.What Will You DoBe Committed, Be Connected, Be Creative and Be Energised - these are the values we are passionate about.   • Work closely with the BI Specialty (syndicate) and BI Small Business Leadership Teams to support the Facilities proposition.
  • Engage in broker meetings in support of Underwriters to ensure delivery of services are being upheld on both sides of the transaction and that SLAs are being met.
  • Work with Business Insurance and Distribution to ensure that appropriate metrics are provided to give up to date information on the performance of DUAs or MGAs.
  • Develop and leverage productive Broker and Coverholder relationships through a high level of visibility and using a disciplined underwriting controls approach in support of business objectives.
  • Liaise with Distribution in order to provide underwriting controls expertise to the development process and to ensure new opportunities are tendered within deadline, tacit renewal notices are provided, and a diary of key dates is maintained and monitored.
  • Support underwriters in the generation of new business by leveraging existing business deals.
  • Co-ordinates the application of the Delegated Authority Control Framework, provide advice and guidance to Underwriters and ensure the Delegated Authority Control Framework remains up to date.
  • Provide advice and guidance to Underwriters, Compliance and other stakeholders on current Delegated Underwriting Requirements. This will include the completion of information to be submitted to Lloyds for specific Coverholder approvals.
  • Ensure effective operation of the Delegated Underwriting (DU) function across BI Specialty, ensuring that it remains in compliance with Lloyds minimum standards.
  • Ensure effective operation of the DU function across BI Specialty and BI Small to ensure if remains in compliance with Enterprise/International protocols on DU, updated Codes of practice, Conduct Risk requirements and Coverholder data requirements.
  • Coordinate and undertake wider projects and duties in relation to DUA business.
  • Prepare Underwriting Review (CURe) process for renewal ensuring correct collaborative parties to the transaction are engaged and informed.
  • Complete Independent Peer Review and Coverholder Audit ensuring BI Underwriting Controls are maintained within the agreed frameworks as required across Business Insurance.
