Job Description

Hippo is recruiting for two Bid Managers to join our friendly consultancy, working in our Operations team.We are in the process of standing up a new Bid function and your role will be key in establishing this new function and ensuring that it can operate effectively.You need to feel comfortable working with ambiguity but with a view to creating an organised,successful and established function as a result.We are a fast-growing Digital Design Consultancy headquartered in Leeds but operating across multiple locations including London, Manchester, Coventry and Bristol. We are looking for someone who will enjoy working in a fast paced environment providing bidmanagement expertise in support of the business development function.Your role in a nutshell:

  • Monitoring bids that are released under existing frameworks;
  • Taking responsibility for the coordination of a bid from receipt through to submission.This means;
    • Understanding the requirements of bid, particularly any compliance requirements and ensuring that the wider team delivering the solution understand these;
    • Ensuring that each bid is qualified as quickly as possible;
    • Be responsible for collating and submitting bid clarification questions;
    • Ensuring that the right individuals within Hippo are lined up to support with the content of the bid;
    • Support answer planning;
    • Tracking completion of the bid against the timeframes and escalating issues where necessary;
    • Liaising with third parties or internal Hippo departments (e.g. legal, finance) who may be involved as part of a bid submission;
    • Helping to identify gaps in bid responses/assess the quality of responses provided by the consulting team;
    • Being able to edit draft answers to improve quality of responses and adhere to word count requirements;
    • Manage the bid review process;
    • Collating all the relevant documents for a timely and compliant submission of the bid.
  • Support the creation and management of the Bid Library; a repository of previous submissions and help identify suitable items from the bid library that may be of relevance;
  • Keeping our Proposal management tool up to date with active bids and ensuring bid teams can book their time to these;
  • Working with the wider Operations team to ensure that all documentation is kept up to date and easily accessible;
