Job AdvertBI Developer (C8) - Central Planning (SQL, T-SQL, Power BI, Teradata, Full BI StackSSAS, SSRS, SSIS)If you are a BI Developer looking for your next big challenge, then take a look at these stats;

  • Our Central Merchandise Planning team produce reporting for a product category which turns over in excess of £1.5 billion per year
  • Our reporting database runs on a 2 terabyte server
  • Our sales table contains 1 billion rows
Have we got your attention Could you see yourself working in this fully automated Enterprise level environmentAs a BI developer you will be working with industry standard tools such as MS SQL Server, Power BI SSIS, SSAS and SSRS with a user base of circa 300 users.You will support the existing reporting suite and tools that are used across the entire GM trading floor, as well as helping to design, develop and document new tools and reporting using a variety of different technologies. The role will focus primarilyon reporting, business tool development, requirement gathering and database management.This is a varied role which will see you involved in the full lifecycle from scoping the initial requirement, through to writing T-SQL, developing the report and seeing it through to the build, test and deployment phases. You will assume ownership and controlfor the full process allowing you to have exposure and input at all stages. About the role:
  • Work cross functionally across the GM Trading floor to design, test and build reporting solutions to support the business
  • Develop Power BI dashboards to help drive business performance
  • Own and manage the on-going development of the SSRS Report Server with updates and deployments via ISD Change Control
  • Produce accurate results and analysis that are right first time.
  • Manage production and further development of BAU and ad hoc reports to ensure internal customers expectations are met and exceeded.
  • Documenting, validating and testing of new developments for the team.
What youll need:Essential:
  • Some experience with T-SQL with a willingness and desire to develop
  • Experience developing dashboards in Power BI or other Visualisation tools
  • Knowledge of data collection and analysis
  • Organisation and time management skillsable to work within tight deadlines and have aneye for detail
  • Able to work independently or as part of a team
  • Have a strong customer focus, comfortable in communicating at all levels of the business
Ideal:
  • Experience of SQL Server full BI Stack (SSAS, SSRS, SSIS).
  • Experience of developing dashboards in Power BI.
  • SQL Server database management, performance tuning & development at an Enterprise level.
  • An understanding of Data warehousing principles in particular Kimball methodology Experience of managing projects from inception to conclusion.
