Job Description

Behaviour Support Workers wanted in the Leeds area to work with a variety of primary and SEN schools.- Behaviour Support Worker- SEN Schools- Leeds- Daily supply/long term/permanent opportunities- £60-£80 dependent upon experience- ASAP startsVeritas Education work with a number of primary and SEN schools in the Wakefield area who are looking to appoint teaching assistants and behaviour support workers to support pupils with additional needs with in a primary or SEN/Pupil Referral setting. The schools we work with cater for children who express challenging behaviour and you will be expected to work eith 1:1, 2:1 or within a small group supported by a teacher and other staff. Some of the pupils have been removed from mainstream and need dedicated individuals to help them to achieve in this alternative education setting.Responsibilities

  • Managing pupils behaviour ensuring students engage with lessons, providing academic support and working under the instruction of the class teacher. For this role, you will have:
  • Experience working in specialist schools such as SEN schools, Pupil Referral Units or in Youth Work.
  • Previous support work within a school or other child related experience.
  • Strong behaviour management and confident with challenging behaviour.
  • Happy to work one to one and small group work.
  • An enthusiastic and friendly, yet firm approach Key requirements:
  • Specialist SEBD (Social, Emotional & Behavioural Difficulties) School
  • SEN experience
  • Team-teach trained (Veritas can provide this)
  • Possess strong classroom/behaviour management skills
