Job Description

Senior QA Engineer - Up to £45,000 - Full remote (office in Leeds) As a QA Engineer, you will lead and continually develop the software testing process for the team. After testing, you will continually monitor performance, to prevent potential reoccurrence and to The Digital Experience Team are focused on creating engaging,reliable and performant web applications so your role is extremely important. We follow agile principles (scrum) and have a keen focus on ensuring our technical infrastructure enables our teams to perform to their best.A Senior QA Engineers role with the team will consist of:

  • Working as part of a project team to deliver a range of different web-based solutions
  • Assisting in the definition of requirements and acceptance criteria
  • Create client facing documentation around testing at process and project level
  • Supporting the UAT phase of a project by providing a client with support
  • Developing and sharing knowledge on best testing practices
  • Reporting to the Head of Tech and participating in regular meetings with the rest of the Tech team
  • Help define and enforce best practice and workflows
  • Manual test products with various browsers
Our ideal candidate will:
  • Love being a tester
  • Solid understand and experience of JavaScript - all our tests and frameworks are written in JS.
  • Be well versed in writing user stories/acceptance criteria
  • Have hands-on web testing experience
  • Have a good knowledge of web accessibility
  • Have a good knowledge of testing techniques and of how and when to implement them
  • Have practical experience of test automation
  • Be highly organised and able to work across multiple projects concurrently
  • Thrive on fast-paced working environments
  • Have strong communication skills both verbal and written
  • Enjoy working closely with development teams and clients
Other desirable traits include:
  • Experience working in a digital agency or other fast-paced, client-focused software development house
  • Practical exposure to working in an Scum/Agile Software Development environment
  • Experience of automated testing (i.e. of Cucumber, Ghost Inspector, Selenium, Webdriver)
  • A Bachelors degree in engineering, science or information technology
  • Knowledge of issue tracking products, such as JIRA, DevOps
  • Experience with stakeholders and external customers
