Job Description

The companyBased in Leeds, this company is proud to work with partners and resellers across the world, from national and independent merchants to online retailers, catalogue wholesalers and local authorities.Widely recognised as the market leading supplier of quality Plumbing and Heating consumables and equipment in the UK, they have bucked the trend and grown at a dramatic rate over the last year. As such, they are now looking to hire an Assistant Management Accountant to support the wider finance function.This position requires a good communicator that is methodical and accurate with attention to detail, with a solid understanding of Sage & MS Office, as well as intermediate/advanced Excel to including V lookups and pivot tables.The jobThe successful candidate will support the Financial Controller with the delivery of monthly management accounts, ensuring a robust and thorough balance sheet reconciliation routine and working closely with departmental heads and the financial team.Responsible for the following key duties:

  • Credit Control/Sales Ledger
  • Purchase Ledger
  • Monthly Management Accounts
  • Payroll/Human Resources
  • Other Responsibilities in the Accounts Department:
  • Customer rebate calculations, provision and payments
  • Quarterly VAT return calculation and submission to HMRC for Arctic Hayes Ltd and AB Outsourcing
  • Validate and reconcile information produced by system reports/queries.
  • Assist the Financial Controller with external annual audit
  • Assist with queries on Sales Ledger and Purchase Ledger
  • The personThe successful candidate will:
  • Be studying towards becoming, or already be AAT qualified
  • Have proven experience as an Assistant Management Accountant
  • Possess a solid understanding of Sage & MS Office with intermediate/advanced Excel to including V lookups and pivot tables
  • Have a good working knowledge and understanding of VAT
