Job Description

Our Client has a vacancy for an Assistant or Junior Estimator for our building & electrical maintenance business based in Hunslet, Leeds. Established 30 years ago and given recent growth they are looking to add a valued member to the team.The business offers a range of services and provide a full building maintenance and small works package including refurbishment, maintenance, electrical works, office fit outs / re-modelling and Facilities Maintenance. We offer clients the highest quality,comprehensive maintenance and repair service and pride ourselves on our customer service.The successful individual will be office based, working on various day to day commercial small projects along with assisting the Contracts managers with preparation of quotations and providing support as and where needed.Responsibilities

  • Able to work with the Schedule of Rates document for the Stonegate quotations.
  • Assisting the Contracts Managers with ordering materials
  • Providing support with various aspect of each project/quotation i.e., Health & Safety - risk assessments and various documentation
  • Managing databases: Keep track of materials, prices, suppliers, and subcontractors
  • Liaise with relevant customers and work with other internal departments to ensure the highest standards are met
  • Coordinating with suppliers and subcontractors: Get quotes and prices from suppliers and subcontractors and maintain good communication with them to keep information up to date
  • Continuous improvement of methods and processes in terms of both quality and efficiency
  • Demonstrate understanding of Building Regulations and relevant H&S procedures relating to the building industry would be desirable but not essential
Requirements
  • Previous experience as an estimator (1-2 years)
  • Building maintenance experience is preferred
  • Maths & IT skills are important and keen attention to detail, with a methodical approach
  • You will also need to be able to communicate well, verbally and in writing
  • Meticulous and highly organised
Remuneration
  • Salary £30,000 - £35,000 (depending on experience)
