Job Description

Elevation Accountancy & Finance are currently seeking an Assistant Accountant to join a successful & prestigious business based in Leeds on a full time permanent basis! This is a rare opportunity for an experienced individual to join a successful business to provide extensive support across the busy finance team, you will be responsible for assisting with the accounts and supporting with finance as well as having a real impacton the commercial performance of the business. Duties Include:

  • Transactional processing of sales and purchase invoices, cash receipts and payments
  • Bank reconciliations, expenses management, personnel information
  • Credit control cash collection via telephone, email, and Teams/face to face if required
  • Financial accounting processing including journals for depreciation, inter-company etc
  • Assistance with the production of monthly management accounts within 10 working days of the month end.
  • Assistance with production of a rolling cash flow forecast and with stocktakes
  • Reporting and improvement of financial and non-financial information including KPI’s
  • Assistance with the implementation of a new ERP system during the financial year
  • Support where required for internal and external audits
  • Compliance with the relevant tax authorities and national legislation
  • Positively contribute where appropriate both commercially and operationally to the company
Skills, Knowledge & Experience:
  • Relevant recognised accounting qualification or working towards one
  • Possess accounting experience working within an SME manufacturing environment
  • Experience and knowledge of financial controls and reporting
  • A self-motivated and driven person with strong communication skills
  • Detail oriented and technically strong
  • Experience of payroll would be desirable but not essential
  • AAT/CIMA/ACCA/ACA qualified or working towards qualification
