The Asset Integrity Engineer reports to the Network Integrity & Compliance Lead and the primary purpose of the role is to ensure NGNs transmission pipelines and above groundassets are safe, reliable and are fully compliant with legislation, Gas Industry Regulation & Standards and company Policies & Procedures.Supports the Duties of the User under Pressure Systems Safety Regulations on behalf of the Networks Compliance Schedule.Provide Technical guidance to the NGN Business for the Customer Operations, Capital Projects and Maintenance teams.Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities:

  • Manage NGN Integrity workload to ensure compliance with the Pressure Systems Safety Regulations, the Pipeline Safety Regulations and industry standards. Including all Above Ground Installations and LTS Pipelines.
  • Support the process to ensure the appropriate notifications to the Competent Body are made for Major Accident Hazard Pipelines.
  • Health & Safety Executive liaison - Support HSE liaison involving Transmission Pipelines and Above Ground Installation assets.
  • Act as a point of contact for compliance queries, assessing additions or changes to existing legislation and make recommendations with regards to their impact on Network policies and activities.
  • Review, assess and update engineering documents.
  • Liaise with operations staff to resolve technical issues.
  • Liaise with NGNs delivery teams and other stakeholders to ensure Asset upgrade programmes are compliant with requirements.
  • Working with partners, stakeholders and customers to ensure completion of Integrity & Innovation related projects.
  • Supporting regulatory reporting and regulatory compliance processes.
  • NGN representation on Industry Committees and Working Groups.
  • Procurement/Commercial - contract tender scoping and assessments related to Transmission assets.
  • Asset incident investigation reporting and issues tracking.
  • Manage Asset Integrity databases and records.
Experience, Skills, Knowledge and Technical Know-how:Essential:
  • Higher education, preferably to a degree level in a technical discipline
  • Professional Registration with the Engineering Council
  • Logical thinker, with excellent problem solving and analytical skills
  • Proactive attitude: strong team player, whilst also having the ability to work on their own initiative
  • Excellent team working, customer orientation and communication skills covering verbal, written and numerical ability
  • Be conversant with above and below ground Assets
  • Maintain an up-to-date knowledge and understanding of technological advances which may benefit NGNs Assets.
  • The candidate should ideally have a number of years operational, engineering or project management experience.
  • Have a good understanding of Legislative requirements & documentation including Pressure System Safety Regulations (PSSR) and Pipeline Safety Regulations (PSR).
  • Preferably have working knowledge of codes of practice, engineering instructions and safety requirements
  • Full UK Driving Licence
Desirable:
  • Gas Passport (SHEA)
  • SCO 1, 2, 4 & 5
  • Mechanical: P11, ICOR, VS02
  • Experience of managing of new works, modifications and repairs procedure for gas assets.
