Job Description

Area Sales Manager - Hardwood Timber ProductsJob Title: Area Sales Manager -Hardwood Timber ProductsIndustry Sector: Hardwood, Timber, Timber Importers, Shop Fitters, Joinery Contractors, Timber Merchants, End Users, Window & Door Manufactures, Kitchen Manufacturers, Fabricators and Saw-MillersArea to be covered: YorkshireRemuneration: £30,000 - £40,000 + £7,000 BonusBenefits: Fully expensed car + benefits package The role of the Area Sales Manager - Hardwood Timber Products will involve:

  • Field sales position selling a range of hardwood timber products
  • 70% of your time selling to buyers within manufacturers such as kitchen manufacturers and window& door manufacturers
  • Remainder of time with end users, timber merchants, fabricators, saw-millers, shop fitters and high end joinery contractors
  • Area has not had dedicated field sales representation recently so fantastic opportunity to make a name for yourself
  • Covering an area currently achieving £1m-£1.5m turnover
  • 60% new business development, 40% account management position
  • Managing with orders valued from £500 - £40,000
  • Loads of contacts/ customers provided
    • The ideal applicant will be an Area Sales Manager -Hardwood Timber Products with:
  • Proven track record in field sales.
  • Must have sold hardwood timber based products
  • Ideally an understanding of the timber manufacturing process
  • Comfortable managing existing customers whilst generating new business
  • Experience selling to timber manufacturers is desirable
  • Ability to build and maintain relationships with buyers within timber manufacturers
  • Effective verbal and written communication with customers and colleagues
  • Driven, enthusiastic, hungry with a passion for the product and company
  • Excellent communication skills with ability to convey technically information
  • Computer literate
  • Efficient territorial planning skills
