Area Sales Manager - Flooring Adhesives Job Title: Area Sales Manager - Flooring Adhesives Industry Sector: Flooring Products, Flooring Compounds, Flooring Adhesives, Flooring Membranes, Sealants, Floor Coverings, Primers, Flooring Contractors, Main Contractors, Sub Contractors, Flooring Distributors, Flooring Merchants, Builders Merchants, DistributionArea to be covered: North East & YorkshireRemuneration: £35,000 Neg. + 20% Bonus Benefits: BMW/Audi hybrid company car & comprehensive benefits packagesThe role of the Area Sales Manager - Flooring Adhesives will involve:

  • Field sales position selling a high quality range of adhesives, sealants, compounds and membranes used for floorcoverings
  • 80% of your time will be spent selling/stimulating demand via flooring contractors, main contractors and sub-contractors
  • 20% managing circa 8/9 flooring distributors (80% of sales are putted through the distribution parents, 20% direct to flooring contractors)
  • Inheriting a territory currently turning over circa £2m, currently performing well against budget expectation, only available due to an internal promotion
  • Inheriting circa 300 customers on patch, plus a massive database to utilise
  • Dealing with distributor order values of around £10,000 - £50,000, depending on project sizes
  • 50% of your time generating new relationships, 50% account managing existing relationships
  • Regular visits to construction sites
  • Liaising with the internal teams, colleagues from different territories and upkeep of the CRM system
The ideal applicant will be an Area Sales Manager - Flooring Adhesives with:
  • Must have a proven track record of field based sales within the construction industry
  • Ideally sold related products such as: flooring products, floorcoverings, hard flooring, carpets, tiles, flooring adhesives, flooring compounds and flooring membranes (however our client is open to all building materials)
  • Ideally have experience of stimulating demand with contractors and back-selling via distributors, merchants, retailers etc.
  • Demonstrable track record in account management and new business generation
  • Consultative sales style with ability to build lasting relationships
  • Comfortable with working as part of a team
  • Genuine get up and go work ethic
  • Results orientated, personable and enthusiastic
