Apprentice Clinical Support Worker We are recruiting motivated, caring and compassionate individuals for the role of Apprentice Clinical Support Worker.This full-time (37.5 hours per week) variable shift pattern apprenticeship is undertaken within a fifteen month fixed-term contract, and provides an ideal opportunity to begin your healthcare career at Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust.The apprenticeship is delivered In collaboration between the Trust and an education provider. On successful completion of coursework and practical assessments, you will receive a Level 2 qualification in Clinical Healthcare Support plus a level 1 qualification in maths and english if you do not already hold this. You will also be required to undertake the full care certificate within your first month (If you already hold the care certificate you will need to undertake a competency assessment only).In the supporting information section on your application form, please answer the following questions before providing us with any other information you feel is necessary to your application.Question 1: What do you think you will be doing in this jobQuestion 2: What are your plans for managing the academic part of this course alongside working full timeOn successful completion of the programme you can progress to a permanent band 2 Clinical Support Worker position within Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust. From here we offer supported on-going learning with an opportunity for career progression.Successful applicants will work as team members in their allocated ward, unit or department giving direct hands-on care to patients, and will attend timetabled study sessions. Youwill be required to work a combination of shifts, including days, twilights, nights and weekends, as appropriate to your clinical area.We have a number of start dates throughout the year and you could spend your 15 month placement at any one of our Trust sites: Leeds General Infirmary, St.James’s University Hospital, Chapel Allerton Hospital, Seacroft Hospital or Wharfedale Hospital.If your application is shortlisted you will be asked to complete an online assessment in Literacy & Numeracy, those candidates who achieve the required level will be invited to attend an Apprentice Clinical Support Worker Assessment Centre.As part of the Assessment Centre you will be asked to take part in care-giving scenarios and have a short interview.
