Job Description

Job Title: Social Worker - Child Protection TeamLocation: Leeds CouncilRate: £40 per hourAre you an experienced and dedicated Social Worker seeking a challenging role in Child Protection Leeds Council is recruiting for a dynamic professional to join their Child Protection Team. With a competitive rate of £40 per hour, this is an excellent opportunityto make a significant impact on the lives of vulnerable children and families.Responsibilities:

  • Assessment and Intervention: Conduct thorough assessments of children and families, developing and implementing targeted intervention plans.
  • Child Protection Plans: Formulate and oversee the implementation of Child Protection Plans, ensuring the involvement of families in decision-making processes.
  • Risk Assessment: Perform comprehensive risk assessments to identify potential harm to children and implement strategies to mitigate risks effectively.
  • Court Proceedings: Prepare detailed reports and statements for court proceedings, representing the local authoritys position and advocating for the best interests of the child.
  • Collaboration: Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams, partner agencies, and professionals to deliver comprehensive and coordinated support.
  • Crisis Intervention: Provide timely and effective crisis intervention, addressing urgent situations to safeguard the welfare of children.
  • Family Support: Offer guidance and support to families, facilitating access to relevant services and resources to address identified needs.
  • Record Keeping: Maintain accurate and up-to-date case records in compliance with organizational policies and statutory requirements.
Requirements:
  • Qualified Social Worker: Hold a recognized qualification in social work and be registered with Social Work England.
  • Child Protection Experience: Proven experience working in Child Protection teams, demonstrating a comprehensive understanding of relevant legislation and policies.
  • Assessment Skills: Strong assessment skills, enabling the identification of children and families at risk and the formulation of effective intervention plans.
  • Court Experience: Experience preparing reports and statements for court proceedings, with an understanding of legal processes related to child protection.
  • Collaborative Team Player: Ability to work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams and engage effectively with partner agencies.
  • Crisis Management: Proficient in crisis intervention techniques, ensuring the well-being and safety of children in urgent situations.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to engage sensitively with children, families, and professionals.
