Job Description

Administrator (Flood Resilience)£12.74 per hour, Monday - Friday, Full time hours, based in LS11.When floods happen, they can have devastating impacts on the communities they affect, and the Environment Agency needs to be ready and prepared to Think Big, Act Early and Be Visible.Are you interested in helping us reduce the risk of flooding Do you want to help us, our partners and our communities to be prepared and resilient to floodingAs a member of the Yorkshire Flood Resilience Team your primary focus will be supporting the delivery of our flood incident management service.You will do this through;

  • Maintaining and improving our Flood Warning Service
  • Delivering our incident management arrangements through maintenance of our procedures.
  • Using your excellent influencing and communications skills to help our communities and our professional partners to be better prepared for flooding
  • On occasions, working on national projects
  • Skills and Experience required for this role;
  • Youll be well organised and have excellent attention to detail to ensure our work is delivered to a high standard
  • Youll be a self-starter, able to work as part of a team and individually, prioritising workload to deliver results
  • Youll be motivated by delivering outcomes and you will think innovatively to develop solutions
  • Youll be good at working under pressure, working flexibly and at pace
  • Youll be a strong communicator and able to explain technical information clearly and deliver training
  • Ideally, you will also be able to demonstrate the following;
  • Knowledge of flood risk and incident management
  • An interest in the environment and a passion for making a difference
  • An efficient and logical approach to project and budget management
  • Excellent customer service, communications and interpersonal skills
  • Strong IT and data skills; experience of GIS software would be beneficial.
