Job Description

Position: Administrative OfficerLocation: Leeds, Solihull, Cardiff, PeterboroughSalary: £ 12.84 per hourContract: Temporary 6-month Hybrid working: 2 days in the office and 3 days working from homeWorking Days/Hours:Full Time, flexible hours between 7am and 7pm as agreed with the line manager, 37 hours per week. During training the hours will be 9am to 5pm.Brook Street in partnership with the Home Office have a fantastic opportunity to join their existing team of admin officers in locations over the UK. You will be assisting with providing appropriate support working within the case working teams to support theirefforts, managing basic admin tasks, answering emails, requesting information, creating digital files, liaising with other departments and stakeholders.In this high-profile department, the role will be in an administrative support capacity at one of the above Home Office branches where you will be required to attend.Day-to-day duties:

  • Data entry of information pulled from the computer system into spreadsheets.
  • Action all outstanding tasks such as safeguarding referrals, confirmation of address, outstanding payments, on a case to ensure the case can be discontinued.
  • Liaise with other casework teams within Asylum support to ensure that outstanding tasks are progressed or escalated.
  • Hold a good understanding of IT and Microsoft Office as you will be required to update & maintain accurate records. A high standard of data quality will be expected.
  • Monitor mailboxes, responding to queries from stakeholders after seeking support at first from line managers and bringing queries to the attention of senior members of the team.
  • Establish effective working relationships with a range of internal and external stakeholders to support the progression of cases.
  • Be able to handle customer information sensitively and securely.
  • Make impartial and well-considered judgements.
  • Deliver at pace and work towards targets: 15 to 18 cases per day when training is complete and discontinuations are fully operational.

Training provided: Fully remote training - 2 weeks intensive training and will be assigned a mentor. No holidays during the training period. After that for the next 2 weeks a day or two annual leave are allowed but not a week or more. Hours will be 9am to 5pm during training.There is no on-site parking at any of the locations. Parking can be arranged for Blue Badge holders.
